The second exhibition in the new Artlink exhibition panels in Swan Park features the work of Bettine Linke, a Buncrana-based photographer who has lived in the area for over thirty years.
Bettine’s photography is deeply rooted in a sense of place, exploring the landscapes, histories, and cultural layers of the local region. Much of her work focuses on archaeological sites, where she examines the meeting point between past and present.
Through her lens, these sites become more than historical records—they are living spaces that continue to shape community identity. Her images draw attention to textures, traces, and atmospheres that might otherwise be overlooked, inviting viewers to reflect on the enduring relationship between people and the land.
By combining a refined artistic vision with a deep attentiveness to archaeology, Bettine Linke creates photographs that serve as both aesthetic works of art and visual archives of heritage.
