FORT DUNREE, CO. DONEGAL – Artlink and Living Breath Productions invite you to a one-of-a-kind theatrical event, Shakespeare at the Fort, an immersive open-air promenade production of Twelfth Night, staged against the wild beauty of Fort Dunree. With performances set to unfold across the dramatic coastline and charming walled gardens, audiences will follow the twists and turns of Shakespeare’s beloved comedy in an immersive, moving experience.

Performance Dates:

  • Friday, 6th June at 6pm
  • Saturday, 7th June at 1pm and 4pm

This reimagined production, directed by Ruth Garvey-Williams, blends the timeless themes of mistaken identity, unrequited love, and joyful chaos with the raw, windswept charm of Donegal’s historic fort. The show promises to be a rich theatrical experience — with refreshments included as part of the journey.

A Family Celebration of Shakespeare and Art

As part of the festivities on Saturday, 7th June, Artlink also hosts a free, family-friendly drop-in art workshop from 1pm to 4pm at Fort Dunree. Families are invited to explore the theme of identity through collage, guided by visual artists Julie O’Donnell, Sinead Walsh, and Paul Campbell. Children and adults alike may even encounter a roaming Shakespearian actor amid their creative endeavours. No booking required.
