Bettine is a photographer whose work is deeply rooted in a sense of place, focusing on the landscapes, histories, and cultural layers of the local area. Much of her practice is dedicated to documenting archaeological sites, where she explores the intersection between past and present. Through her lens, these sites are not only preserved as historical records but also reimagined as living spaces that continue to shape community identity. Her photographs often highlight textures, traces, and atmospheres that might otherwise be overlooked, encouraging viewers to reflect on the enduring significance of the land and its stories. By combining artistic vision with an attentiveness to archaeology, Linke creates images that serve both as aesthetic works and as visual archives of heritage.
We’re delighted to announce that our brand-new A1 outdoor display panels have been installed in Swan Park, Buncrana – and they’re now showcasing their second exhibition Sights & Signs of Inishowen, by Bettine Linke.
A huge thank you to our local councillors Cllr Joy Beard, Fionán Bradley, Albert Doherty, Ali Farren, Martin McDermott, Martin Farren, Jack Murray, Terry Crossan and Paul Canning who supported our Donegal County Council Development Fund Initiative 2025 and the Arts Council Arts Grant 2025 for making this project possible. We would also like to extend our deep gratitude for Stephen Glackin, George McDermott, and thier team at Donegal County Council for their advise and support. The panels will remain in place for future Art exhibitions and other community arts events – so expect plenty more inspiring work to come!
