Lauren Mason was born in 1989 in the Unitited States of America, has since lived Ireland for many years both in the North and South of the border. In 2011 she graduated in BA Hons Degree in Photography, University of Ulster, Belfast. Group Exhibitions include: 2009 North 55 Borderland, Co Donegal; 2010 North 55 Landmarks, Co Donegal.

This is a new project building on the Darkroom Residencies that Artlink has been developing.

There will be a six month Artlnk Darkroom Residency starting late 2012 within which new works will be researched and produced acting as local development of the artist’s recent projects looking at Gambling Arcades and Bingo Halls;

The artist’s Darkroom Residency will include several open studio and workshop days.

The project will lead to a future exhibition of a body of work in 2013.
I would aim to finish the bingo halls project by including some more images from across Ireland and not just around Inishowen.

Many of my previous projects have originated from the community and I would be delighted to come up with a new idea in relation to the local public.

In terms of working with film, I have in the past, worked on a project I created on the Big House out at Straboe; I also own a Mamiya 6,4,5 and have used it for that particular piece of work.
