Continuing on from a very sucessful Big Draw at Fort Dunree over the haloween holidays Artlink Ltd are very excited to be able of offer another great opportunity to have fun with drawing.
Artlink believes in being active in times of austerity and using the power of creativity to activiate the imagination and improve a sense well-being. Artists Patricia Spokes and Rebecca Strain from Artlink have been working with organisations in Derry-Lonodnderry to deliver a free, family friendly series of events supported by Voluntary Arts Ireland, Verbal Arts Centre, London Street Gallery and Creative Village Arts.
Using The Walls in Derry-Londonderry as inspiration artists will host drawing sessions; supporting the public to document the views and see aspects of the city through different eyes. Beginning with Phillip McFadden on Wednesday 4th December, Sebastioano Furci on Saturday 7th December, Steve Lewis on Sunday 8th December and Cathal McGinley on Tuesday 10th December each artist will approach the day’s session sharing their outlook on how to take in the city through drawing.
This cross-border activity connects practicing artists to the public and each other and makes use of skills, talents, education and experience in the arts for the betterment of the wider community.
A collective diary of the event is available online here
